When Faith Meets Purpose
It’s been a few years since I last shared an update here, and oh how much has changed since then…
Back in 2022, I was just beginning my Master’s program in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University. I remember writing with anticipation—and a bit of nervous excitement—about the road ahead. Fast forward to today, I’ve graduated with honors. Every late night, early morning, and tear-filled prayer was worth it.
But this isn’t just about a degree—it’s about the mission God placed on my heart.
As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I’ve stepped deeper into my calling to support individuals and couples navigating infertility, grief, and relationship challenges. I understand firsthand how difficult those seasons can be. But I also know that healing is possible, and that families can be formed in the most unexpected, beautiful ways.
That’s why my heart beats so strongly for children in foster care and families navigating adoption.
Through my work and personal journey, I’ve come to believe that every child deserves to be seen, loved, and chosen—not just legally, but emotionally and spiritually. I launched Journey to Little Hands, to walk alongside families as they explore the sacred call of fostering or adoption. Whether it’s offering emotional support, navigating the process, or simply being a listening ear, I consider it an honor to be part of each family’s unfolding story.
As a foster mother myself, I’ve seen the profound impact of simply opening your heart and home. It’s not always easy. In fact, it’s often quite the opposite. But it’s holy work. And it has changed me in ways I can never fully describe.
My passion for children continues through the books I write. Stories like I Prayed, GOD ANSWERED were born out of prayerful waiting, and now serve as tools to encourage little hearts and remind parents that God is always writing our story—even when the pages feel blank.
If you’re still in the thick of your own waiting season, please know this: God hasn’t forgotten you. He is moving behind the scenes in ways you cannot yet see.
Thank you for walking this journey with me. I carry your prayers, your hope, and your stories in my heart.
With love and faith,
Poulyana xo

On this Day many Stars ago
On this day many stars ago, this little girl standing in this picture was running around playing with her cousins, and in the background hearing the sounds of the adults talking, the plates and cups clicking as the table was being set and my grandmother telling everyone to stay out of the kitchen while she made a feast for over 40 guests.

November is National Adoption Month. 💙
For every “No” I received, I got that much closer to my YES! I’m forever grateful the day we received a call from the hospital that a newborn little boy was awaiting his new family. However, I’m that much more grateful for having the support system we had from our adoption agency, social workers, sweet judge and many others that surrounded us with the tools and resources we needed in order to make our adoption successful.

The life of a Snail
On my walk earlier today, I was deep in thought listening to a podcast when all of a sudden I ran into a snail. I began to tell myself, what a long journey a snail has to be able to get to the other side of the walkway. How long does it take for a snail to get to the other side and how often do they make it? Something told me to take a picture and so I did..

People Say the Most Awkward Things!
I realize that adoption is so foreign to so many, however, I will stand up for my son and adoption itself when necessary. There are so many more statements, questions, unsolicited advice potential and even adoptive parents receive throughout their journey.

Our Adoption Announcement from 2016
There was no stopping us now, as the little courage we had left, enabled us to make this BIG announcement!

Season of Gratitude
And, just like that it’s November.
The season of gratitude, thankfulness and blessings. Let’s pause for a moment and give ourselves some love for coming this far and making it through one impactful and challenging year.
